CAMPS 2016-2017

 
 
PRE-PROGRAM CAMPS:
 
DRYLAND TRAINING – OPEN TO ALL ATHLETES including ADULTS!
Get an edge on the season by getting into shape for your best skiing, boarding, freestyling ever! Strongly recommended for all competitive athletes. NOTE: Program is 8 weeks and all dates are Sundays.
 
DATES:  October 16th, 23rd, 30th, November 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, Dec 4th
TIME:  10:30 am – 12:30 pm
WHERE:  The Heights Clubhouse
FEE:  $150 per person
 
These sessions will comprise of a combination of trail running with dynamic training fundamentals and soccer with some surprises. Fitness testing is a component of this training module.
 
All athletes must come prepared with running shoes each day as the schedule may change due to weather. Dryland training will happen rain or shine.
 
NOTES:
i. Dryland training is included in the Competitive Enhanced Training Package Price;
ii. We require a MINIMUM of 12 participants to run this Program. 
 
DRY LAND TRAINING SCHEDULE
 
  October 16th Mountain Biking
October 23rd Mountain Biking along with dynamic training fundamentals
October 30th Mountain Biking followed by Soccer
 November 6th Trampoline Day
 November 13th Mountain Biking with dynamic training fundamentals and soccer
 November 20th Mountain Biking with dynamic training fundamentals and soccer
 November 22 Trail running along with dynamic training fundamentals and soccer

Please note all athletes and/or parents participating must wear a helmet while mountain biking. All athletes must come prepared with running shoes each day as the schedule may change due to inclement weather. Dry land training goes rain or shine so be prepared and if required training will be moved indoors.
 
AOA FALL 2016 FITNESS TESTING
AOA and Active Life Conditioning are hosting a mass fitness testing event at the Toronto Track & Field Centre, at York University (Ian MacDonald Blvd) on Saturday October 1st from 9am-3pm. Cost will be $20 for pre-registration on the AOA website and athletes will be entered into a draw for prizing. Registration on-site Oct 1 will be $25.00. All U12+ AOA members are invited to attend. Fitness Testing will include: Pente Jump, Medicine Ball Throw, Vertical Jump, Hex Rail, Movement Screen, Box Jump and Beep Test. All athletes planning on attending the U14 and U16 Provincials/Finals must submit a fitness test dated Sept 1-Dec 31 to AOA before Dec 31 to be eligible.

JAY PEAK PRE_SEASON RACE TRAINING CAMP - DECEMBER 2016
 

MUST be Heights member(s) in good standing

ATHLETES MUST BE REGISTERED MEMBERS OF AOA FOR THE 2016/17 SEASON TO ATTEND THE CAMP

U10 (7, 8 and 9 yrs old), U12, U14, U16 and U18/21

December 5-11 with Heights Coaches - lots of mileage, technical development, gate training, dryland fitness, stretching, nutrition, etc.

Full package will include accommodation, some meals, lift tickets (7 days), waterpark entry,
coaching, and gate training

AOA PRE-SEASON TREMBLANT CAMP - MONT TREMBLANT DEC 4TH - 9TH 2016

Once again Alpine Ontario is pleased to announce our premier pre-season ski camp in December at Mt. Tremblant Quebec, this year the project will run December 4-9, 2106.
We invite all clubs throughout Ontario to participate in this value added preseason prep camp!

YOU MUST BE A REGISTERED MEMBER OF AOA FOR THE 2016/17 SEASON TO ATTEND THE CAMP.
PLEASE NOTE: Cancellation/ Refund Policy- A $250 deposit is included in the full cost of the camp. You can cancel your registration before October 15 and receive all of your fees back except a $25.00 processing fee. IF YOU CANCEL DURING OCTOBER 15-NOVEMBER 25, you will receive everything back except for the $250 deposit. IF YOU CANCEL AFTER NOVEMBER 25th,
COACHING COSTS ONLY WILL BE REFUNDED.
 
Athletes must be:
  8 - 14 (age as of December 31, 2016)
  Competent parallel skiers enrolled in a club program and members of Alpine Ontario.

Must meet minimum age requirement and be able to get on and off lift without assistance.
 
RECREATIONAL CAMP 1:
(All Programs) U10 (7, 8 and 9 yr old), U12, U14, U16 & U18/21
 
DATES: Camp 1 December 27th – 30th, 2016 Mandatory Time Trials December 31st
TIME:
9:30 am – 11:30 am AND 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm
FEE:
$200
 
Must meet minimum age requirement and be able to get on and off lift without assistance.
 
 
TYKES CAMP 2:  U7 (3, 4, 5, 6 yrs old)
 
DATES: Camp 1 December 27th – 30th, 2016 Mandatory Time Trials December 31st
AND
Camp 2 January 2nd – 5th, 2017 Mandatory Time Trials December 31st
TIME:
9:30 am – 11:30 am AND 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm
FEE:
$125 for morning OR afternoon
$200 for full day (morning and afternoon) at staff's discretion
* Timed runs December 31st
 
Ratio is max 2:1. Our Tykes program has developed into one of the best in the country. Staff is trained and prepared daily so that your child starts off with a positive, fun and successful development and foundation. Depending on ability, and at the discretion of Snow Sports Staff, student will attend half-day or all day.

 

SNOWBOARD CAMP:

Individuals wanting to participate in this program should already know how to snowboard.  (Privates are recommended to individuals who do not meet this qualification). This programs will be designed to bring you to the next level in the seasonal programs (novice/intermediate/advanced - all mountain or freestyle).
